About us

Our Story

Jonathan and Anne served seven years in pastoral ministry in France before spending thirteen years as lead pastors of the Pentecostal Church in Drummondville, Canada.

From an early age, Jonathan felt a clear calling to teach. He began his theological training at the Institut de Théologie Biblique within the French Assemblies of God, continued his studies at Global University, earned a Master’s in Theology from the University of Montreal, followed by a Master’s in Education from Paris-Sorbonne University, and later completed a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies at the University of Montreal.

Since 2009, Jonathan has been fully engaged in his missionary calling, teaching each year at the West Africa Advanced School of Theology (WAAST) in Lomé, Togo, as well as in Kinshasa, DRC, through an extension campus.

From 2011 to 2020, he served as Academic Dean of the Institut Biblique du Québec (IBQ – ibq.ca) and, from 2017 to 2020, as Executive Director of the Christian television network EMCI TV (emcitv.com).

Jonathan and Anne lived for more than two years on the WAAST campus in Lomé before returning to Quebec for medical reasons.

Today, Jonathan serves as:

  • Part-time President of the Institut Biblique du Québec (PAOC)
  • Faculty member at WAAST in Lomé (Togo) and Kinshasa (DRC – extension centers)
  • Teacher at IBQ and Laval University
  • Dean of Francophone Studies at PAThS (Pan Africa Theological Seminary)

The mission is clear and urgent: to reach people who have never heard the Gospel.

To make this possible, we need leaders who are deeply rooted in God’s Word—leaders who can protect the vitality of the Church, safeguard sound doctrine, and train and send missionaries and local workers to unreached peoples.

Jonathan’s teaching ministry directly addresses this strategic need by equipping the trainers and leaders of Francophone African churches. These leaders, in turn, become multipliers—mobilizing and empowering their communities to take the Gospel where it has never been proclaimed.

In a context where church leaders face a flood of false teachings that weaken the faith and unity of believers, this mission has never been more critical.

Jonathan and Anne Bersot are committed to providing solid biblical teaching and practical tools so that the African Church can fully carry out the Great Commission.

Your support is vital. Together, we can equip leaders who will protect, strengthen, and grow the Church—while bringing the Gospel to the unreached peoples of Africa… and beyond.
